Diets: Which one is right for you?

December 2, 2016

According to a Gallup poll, on average 50% of people want to lose weight.  Anyone who can give you a definitive answer as to what foods you should be eating, especially without asking you about your healthy history should immediately set off your alarm bells.  Since I am not a registered dietitian but a possess a black-belt in dieting throughout my life, I have found that diet plans must be tailored to the individual.  Like many women, I've tried all kinds of diets in an attempt to lose weight and found most to suffer from some major flaw: either too restrictive (too many off limit foods), boring (cabbage soup every damn day), too tedious (weight, measure, and log every morsel before you eat it), too low calorie (HANGRY!), and/or too complicated (recipes with exotic or too many ingredients).  In the end, what has worked most often for me are plans that follow the KISS principle of "Keep It Simple Stupid".  So the answer for some may be Whole 30, Paleo, IIFYM, or a Ketogenic diet but what makes diets successful or rather you successful in dieting is to pick a plan that works for YOU and that YOU find easy to follow
